Pediatric Cardiology is a subspecialty of Medicine applied to the pediatric age group. It involves addressing problems of the heart and circulatory system among the new-born, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.

Pediatric Cardiology is a super-specialist in the field. One is required to pursue a Doctorate (DM) in Pediatric Cardiology for a duration of at least 3 years, after qualifying with Masters in Medicine (MD) before branching out to this sub-specialty. Alternatively, a fellowship in the sub-specialty is required after DM in Cardiology. Interventional Cardiology involves all surgical interventions to prevent &/or treat specific cardiac problems.
